Service / Ownership Context
This crankset is intended for high-torque riding and Transmission setups. Correct DUB bottom bracket spacing and proper torque are critical for quiet operation and long component life.
Fit & Use Signals
- Good Fit: SRAM Transmission trail, enduro, and e-MTB bikes using DUB Wide and UDH frames, especially riders who prefer shorter 165mm cranks for clearance.
- Not A Fit: Non-UDH frames, legacy Eagle systems, Shimano drivetrains, or riders wanting traditional MTB chainrings.
Transmission crank only. Not standard Eagle.
Biggest mistake: customers think this works with old GX/X01. It doesn’t. Needs full T-Type chain + cassette + derailleur.
165mm is shorter than most stock cranks. Great for pedal clearance and e-bike strike reduction, but taller riders sometimes notice the shorter leverage.
Steel T-Type ring lasts longer than alloy on e-bikes, but it’s heavier.
DUB Wide = 55mm chainline. Spacer setup matters. Wrong BB spacing = creaks and bad chainline.
Bashguards cross-compat with Eagle 70/90/GX/X0 T-Type, which is nice for replacements.
Common complaints are weight and looks vs higher-end cranks. Functionally they’re solid.
Failures almost always come from install errors: dry spindle, wrong spacers, under-torqued preload.
Who this is really for: Transmission riders who want durability without GX/X0 pricing.
Who should avoid: anyone not on T-Type.
Mechanic advice: confirm UDH before selling, grease spindle lightly, install DUB BB correctly, torque preload, and tell riders chains wear first—replace early to protect the steel ring.
