The SRAM SX Eagle Boost crankset brings true Eagle 1x drivetrain performance to entry-level and replacement builds. This Boost-compatible version uses a 175mm aluminum crank arm set paired with a 32-tooth direct mount X-SYNC 2 steel chainring and SRAM’s DUB spindle system.

Designed for modern Boost-spaced mountain bikes, this crankset is compatible with SRAM 11- and 12-speed Eagle drivetrains and can also be used with NX 1x11 systems when paired with a SRAM 11-speed chain.

Key Functional Details

  • 175mm forged aluminum crank arms

Service / Ownership Context

This crankset requires a compatible SRAM DUB bottom bracket matched to your frame’s bottom bracket standard (BSA, PF92, etc.). Installation requires proper crank preload adjustment and torque to SRAM specification. If replacing a non-Boost crankset, verify rear hub spacing before ordering.

Fit & Use Signals

  • Good Fit: Boost 148mm mountain bikes running SRAM Eagle 1x systems
  • Good Fit: Replacement for damaged SX or NX Boost cranksets
  • Not A Fit: Non-Boost (142mm) rear hub frames
  • Not A Fit: Road, gravel, BMX, or multi-chainring setups
Most confusion happens when riders don’t know if their bike is Boost. If the rear hub is 148mm, this is correct. If it’s 142mm, chainline will be wrong and shifting won’t be optimal. SX is heavier than NX/GX but solid for trail riding and entry builds. Steel chainring lasts well but adds weight. Common mistake: ordering crank without checking bottom bracket type. DUB spindle means you MUST match BB standard (BSA, PF, etc.). If someone is upgrading from older square taper or Powerspline, confirm bottom bracket replacement is included in project. Good budget replacement. Not for weight-conscious builds.
