I’m halfway to my goal! After yesterday’s 50% successful ride I was a bit unsure, but with a gorgeous weather forecast and a newly-fixed bike I figured my best bet was to try. My morning ride was pretty much the same thing as yesterday. It was a smidge cold at first, but after about 5 minutes that didn’t really bother me. I’m mad about some of the terrible pot-holes (looking at you, Borough of Sinking Spring right where Martin’s Road turns into South Hull) but otherwise the ride was pretty great.

Just to keep a closer eye on my tire situation, I rolled my bike all the way into my office for the day. So, I also benefitted from having a giant conversation piece in my office and I was relieved that my tires stayed inflated.

My ride home had ideal weather. Probably at a temperature in the 70s, sunny, gorgeous. I was able to ride for 95% of the trip, only getting off to cross one busy street and to push up the last big hill shortly before my house. As compared to last week’s ride, this was WAY better.

While I do have a pretty good system down for a lot of things (packing clothes, buying school lunch, minimizing gear to schlepp) I am still considering changes to my gear distribution. For these past 3 days, I switched to having a small day-pack in the back basket of my bike. It’s a perfect bag for hiking, but it is cram-filled with one work outfit and I might have forgotten my ID card and my phone on recent days. I’m debating other storage options, that might help me to forget less stuff, and to have less-wrinkled clothes.
