I’m counting today as riding to work. Quite literally, I did ride to work; I just did not also ride home.

My morning ride was ONE MILLION times easier than last week. It took me under 20 minutes, and I felt pretty good about riding the whole time (in contrast to last week when I was shoving my bike up all the little hills). I had a few minutes at work to stop sweating before I changed into work clothes (again, in contrast to last week) so overall it was a strong start.

And then, the end of the day rolled around. And I did not roll around. Apparently, my back tire became incredibly flat throughout the day. I briefly tried to see if maybe it wasn’t that bad, but it truly was that bad. I parked the bike in my office, and was incredibly lucky to have a coworker offer to give me a ride (thanks Ellen!).

Later in the evening, Aaron and I were able to pick up the bike, and he fixed the tire in his bike shop. Turns out that having a local bike shop that is willing to re-open for you at 8:00 at night on a day they are closed is quite the handy connection to have. Shout-out to Go Grava! A short bit later, and I’m ready to ride again tomorrow.
