Stem length

Fine-tune the fit of your X-LAB GT8

The Branta carbon fiber stem for the X-LAB GT8 connects your handlebar to the fork steerer and helps set your reach to the controls. Choose from 70, 80, 90 or 100 mm lengths to match your existing setup or a bike-fit recommendation.

The GT8 uses a separate stem and handlebar. That lets you change stem length while keeping a compatible handlebar, rather than replacing a complete integrated cockpit.

Choose your stem length

With the rest of your setup unchanged, a shorter stem brings the handlebar closer; a longer stem moves it farther away. Stem length can also change how the steering feels. Start with the length of your current stem and the position you want to achieve, rather than choosing by rider height alone.

  • 70 mm: shortest option in this range.
  • 80 mm: 10 mm longer than the 70 mm option.
  • 90 mm: 10 mm longer than the 80 mm option.
  • 100 mm: longest option in this range.

Check the complete fit

The 31.8 mm measurement is the handlebar's diameter where the stem clamps it. The 28.6 mm measurement is the fork steerer diameter at the stem. These are two different fit points, and both need to match.

For a GT8 replacement, also check the headset cover, spacers, available steerer length and cable or hose clearance. Matching clamp diameters alone does not establish compatibility with another bicycle. Have your mechanic follow the component and frame installation instructions, including the applicable torque limits.

Common questions

Does this include a handlebar?

No. This listing is for the stem. A compatible 31.8 mm handlebar is separate.

Is 40 mm the amount it raises my handlebar?

No. The dealer lists 40 mm as the stem height; it is not a handlebar-rise measurement. Your final bar position also depends on the stem geometry, headset and spacer arrangement.

Which length should I choose?

Match your current stem for a like-for-like length replacement, or use a bike-fit recommendation when changing your riding position. Go Grava can help you compare your current setup with these four options.
